Control of the energy balance and the entire building technology

The Rehl Energy GmbH building has a floor space of over 2,000 m² and includes a training centre, offices, a warehouse, and an assembly workshop. The integrated ecocoach system optimises the energy flows. Solar power supplies the building, including heating and hot water, and also for the charging stations.

The high output of the charge controller of 100 kW makes it possible to operate the majority of the charging points entirely with stored solar power, even at night. A total of five AC charging points, each with two 22 kW outputs and one DC station with an output of up to 100 kW, are available at the site.

The system also controls the energy balance and the entire building technology. This includes the lighting, blinds, heating and individual room temperature control in the offices. All functions can be monitored and operated via tablet or smartphone using a user-friendly app.

«With the solution from ecocoach AG, we could install the entire system around 75 per cent faster than comparable solutions for storage, energy management and building automation. All functions are integrated, and configuration is carried out via a graphical user interface without any programming knowledge,» says Viktor Rehl, Managing Director of Rehl Energy.

The comprehensive emergency power function of the ecocoach system was essential to the founder of the trading company: «If you generate your electricity and invest in a storage system, you don't want to compromise in the event of grid disruptions.» The emergency power function allows the solar system to remain in operation even during grid disruptions and, together with the storage system, supply the entire building with electricity.
