From simple storage to energy centre

  • Energy management system with the broadest range of functions on the market

  • Compatible with any storage size and cell chemistry

  • Modularly expandable from a stand-alone storage system to an open-technology product package by integrating additional energy and building technology

  • The software platform for energy management digitalises all interactions of customers, operators and end users with the energy system

  • ecocoach is a partner with technology and market expertise, from the cell to the commissioning of complex energy technology

One-stop market access for storage manufacturers
and integrators

The ecocoach energy management system raises battery storage systems of all types and sizes to the highest market level for energy and building technology. Manufacturers and system integrators of storage systems rely on the energy management system as it combines all of today's operating modes: Self-consumption optimisation, load management, peak load capping and genuine emergency power. The system also opens the door to marketing, such as trading on the balancing energy market. The ecocoach energy management software digitalises all interactions between installers, operators, and end users regarding the product and the connected components in the building. The platform is available as standard software or a customised white label version. It is made in Switzerland, from cycle control to the end user app.

Multi-use controls all use cases

The ecocoach energy management system divides the battery capacity into several areas.

Each capacity range is assigned to a specific operating mode and the associated loads. In this way, the system generates genuine multi-use energy management that harmonises surpluses, power limits, tariff specifications, and external control signals. The operating modes simultaneously control all prioritised loads:

  • Self-consumption optimisation supplies desired consumers
with storage energy from local production surpluses

  • Peak load capping supplies desired consumers with storage energy when
with storage energy when the building power limit is reached

  • Load management supplies prioritised charging stations with storage energy when the maximum
of the maximum current per phase with storage energy

  • The emergency power or the 3-phase emergency power system operates defined consumers
with locally produced and stored energy in the event of a grid failure

Integration of several battery stacks with different SOC limits into an overall system that controls all operating modes across the board

Remote access

Cloud-based access for commissioning, system expansion or customisation and remote support

Parameter settings
and displays

Customised settings depending on the storage system and inverter type and depending on the application

State of Charge (SOC)
Upper an lower limit

Translation of gross to net battery capacity as a representation to customers from 0 % to 100 % SOC

Cycles / State of Health (SOH)

Analysis and display of parameters for monitoring cycle progression, battery status and system utilisation

Error handling

Read out and display alarm messages and error logging of all components and their endpoints and intervene manually or automatically

Charge conservation

Prevention of deep discharge through automated charging from the grid (e.g. in cold weather without photovoltaic surplus)

Power limitation of batteries without their derating where there is a risk of overheating and disconnection due to high loads

Grid operator interface
Emergency stop

Optional interface for external access, e.g. for grid operators or the fire brigade to switch off the system

e.battery systems develops and sells outdoor storage systems with 2nd-life battery modules from the automotive industry. These high-quality modules fulfil all requirements for long-term use in buildings, even when used. Our partner makes an important contribution to real sustainability in the storage market with its reconditioning and reuse.

Complete package for market access and project management

The Austrian manufacturer relies on ecocoach's energy management system for professional market integration, which handles communication with the battery inverter and controls all operating modes of the storage system. In addition, e.battery systems utilise the complete energy management platform for commissioning and maintaining the storage system without the need for complex in-house development. The mobile app supplied is also available to your customers and end customers.

Fulfilling market requirements open to all technologies

Modular integration into customers' energy systems was particularly important to Austrian battery specialists when they decided to work with ecocoach. While many competitor storage systems are limited to their own functions, e.battery systems' ecocoach technology offers the integration of additional logic in the field of energy and building technology. ecocoach maps these comprehensive services of an energy management system via standardised software libraries, enabling e.battery systems to map complex market requirements with scalable solution modules.
